I began my career in corrections in 2021, and since then I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Branden throughout my career. Over the years, I’ve regularly assisted with training and have gained valuable experience dealing with high-stress situations, conflict, communication, and personal safety.

One of the biggest things corrections has taught me is how important preparation really is. Knowing how to recognize a problem, communicate effectively, stay calm under pressure, and respond when necessary can make a huge difference when a situation goes wrong.

That’s a big part of why I wanted to be involved with Apex.

I believe the knowledge and experience we’ve gained throughout our careers shouldn’t only benefit the people we work with. We have an opportunity to take what we’ve learned and use it to help everyday people in our community become more aware, confident, and prepared to protect themselves and the people they care about.

When I’m not working or helping with Apex, I’m also preparing for an exciting new chapter in my personal life—getting married this year.

I’m proud to be part of what we’re building at Apex and excited to help bring practical, realistic self-defense training to our community.
